Clifton Saturday Morning Clean Up

Many Clifton residents woke up on Friday 9 January to see their recycling boxes and the recycling waste they had collected over the Christmas period littered across their streets because of the weekends high winds.

It is not everyday that high-winds hit York and throw up all the festive recycling. But it was an eyesore and we wanted to sort it out as quickly as possible. We contacted the Residents Association and organised an early morning litter pick for Saturday.

We concentrated our efforts in Pembroke Street , Baker Street, Newborough Street,  Upper Newborough Street and Shipton Street and with the help of residents we collected 18 bags of recycling waste.

It was great that people turned out to help us clear the streets of rubbish. It shows what we can all achieve by working together. We would like to thank you for your support.
