Corner House Pub

At our Ward Committee meeting this month, residents are set to discuss the future use of a former pub, we have invited representatives of Tesco to attend and give residents an update on the former Corner House pub and to take questions from the community.

The Corner House pub has been boarded up for more than 18 months now and there have been numerous complaints from residents. Over this period, we have been in contact with Marstons brewery and the leaseholders Tesco to push for a solution to get the building back in use. Tesco has been good at answering our queries and we would like them to give residents some assurances that they are working to bring a major eyesore in the lovely area of Burton Stone Lane back into use.

At the Ward Committee, we can give everyone an update on all Clifton Ward matters, including ward funding, a report from local Police and volunteering opportunities with our local community projects. There is always a chance for residents to ask Councillors questions, nothing is too small for a response and we hope to see plenty of residents there.

Clifton ward committee takes place on Tues 23 August at Burton Stone Community Centre from 6.30pm with a councillor drop in session, with the main meeting commencing from 7.00pm.
