MP stops by to see Cornlands Road play area

Hugh Bayley MP met with Councillor Steve Burton to discuss plans to revamp a play area near Cornlands Road earlier this week. Discussions about the play area have been undergoing for some time, however Councillor Burton has tried to speed up the process so that the play area can be built as soon as possible. It is hoped that the project will be completed by early October.

The project, which has been led by the hard working volunteers of the Cornlands and Lowfields Residents Association, has included input from the wider community and it is hoped that mosaic work by children from a local school will be included as part of the project.

Hugh Bayley says:
“It is fantastic to hear of the work that is being done by the Council and local community to transform the play area into a place for families in the community to enjoy. Councillor Burton’s hard work should be praised for supporting a project that improves the local environment.”

Cllr. Steve Burton says:
“I welcome the proposals for the revamped Play Area off Cornlands Road and the role played by the Cornlands and Lowfields Residents Association in this project. This shows what can happen when the Council and the local community work together to improve facilities in the area.”
