ALL WELCOME

In recent years the challenge has never been greater. Nationally the Tories are proposing forced academisation of all schools in England. Meanwhile here in York we’ve just seen a council budget passed which will decimate children’s services. York’s Tories and Lib Dems have cut £1.4m (40%) from the children’s budget, threatening the delivery of York’s Children’s Centres, Castlegate Youth Service and support with transport for Special Educational Needs (SEN) children.

It is critical that we present an alternative vision for York, built on strong, clear and credible policy proposals. That is why we are asking York Labour party members to join our policy forum to help inform and shape the policies for the future of Children’s and Education services.

If you have experience in children’s services or education, either professional or personal experience, or if you’re simply passionate or curious and want to find out more, then please come along to join our policy forum.

York Central MP Rachael Maskell, and Cllr Stuart Barnes (Labour’s spokesperson for Children and Education at York Council) will both be there and look forward to meeting with you and hearing your views.
