On Friday December 11 York Young Labour will be holding a relaunch event between 7:30pm and 9pm. It will be held in the main hall of the Priory Street Community Centre and will be attended by Rachael Maskell, MP for York Central.
The event will focus on boosting political participation among young people in York. We feel this is a great campaign for York Young Labour to get involved with. We hope to hear from younger members about what they feel could be done to get more young people engaged with the party, and politics in general. Rachael Maskell will also be sharing her thoughts on the importance of youth involvement in politics as well as holding a general Q and A session. You will have the opportunity to ask Rachael questions about both local and national issues.
However, the primary focus of this event is to give Young Labour members the opportunity to meet with, and get to know, one another. At a time when young people are being increasingly starved of any governmental support we feel it is crucialthat York has an active and welcoming Young Labour community.
If you're interested in getting involved with York Young Labour over the next few months, then this is the perfect opportunity.
It would be great to see as many of you there as possible.
